About Brad

Rep. Jacobsen has a long history of service to Northern Oakland County. He is the Vice-President of Jacobsen's Flowers, with three locations including one on M-24 in Lake Orion. He is married to Teri (his wonderful wife of over 30 years) and has three children. Brad was born, raised, and still resides in Oxford, a community he served for 16 years as a Township Trustee (1984-2000).

After completing his B.A. at the James Madison College at Michigan State University, he returned home to the family business. His degree is in Political Economics and Business. Brad also represented District 1 on the Oakland County Commission. He served two terms as a commissioner and was the Republican Caucus Chairman.

In the past, Brad has chaired the Oxford Township Water-Sewer Committee, the Oxford Fire Board, and was a member of the Oxford Emergency Safety Authority.

As a businessman he has served our community as a past chair of the Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Past President and active member of the Oxford Rotary, a former Sunday School teacher with the Oxford United Methodist Church, and is a member in good standing of the local Elks and Eagles Clubs.

Brad has now served four years in Lansing as your State Representative. His major legislative accomplishments include passing major reforms to worker's compensation, outdoor advertising laws, fighting Obamacare, and fixing transportation funding.

Business and Government experience has given Brad the background that is needed to help lead Oakland County during the difficult times which lay ahead.
